Volunteer and Provide Compassionate Service to Your Community

Seniors At Home, a division of Jewish Family and Children’s Services, is seeking individuals who wish to become palliative and end of life care volunteers. Palliative care aims to prevent and relieve suffering, providing comfort and support regardless of a person’s age or stage of illness or decline. Volunteers gain the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate service to those who are ill or dying, obtain valuable insights about life and death, offer companionship and support to our clients, and provide respite for family members. Our comprehensive, 30-hour training starts on November 1, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. We require that y ou make a commitment to the full training. The full training schedule is:

November 1, 3, 10, 15, 17:  6:00 pm - 8:30 pm (no meeting on Election Day)

November 6, 13:  11:00 am - 5:00 pm

The training is located at our office at 2150 Post Street in San Francisco. No medical experience is necessary.
