Bay Area Day of Remembrance 2018
The Day of Remembrance (DOR) 2018 commemoration, with this year’s theme of “Carrying the Light for Justice: No Barbed Wire! No Walls!” will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2018 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the AMC Kabuki 8 Theatre, 1881 Post Street (between Fillmore and Webster) in San Francisco’s Japantown. The program includes speakers, film clips and cultural performances. The candle lighting ceremony is a special remembrance and tribute to all who were impacted by the wartime incarceration of Japanese-Americans, and re-dedication to the ongoing fight for justice. A procession follows from the theatre to the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (1840 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA) for a community reception.
