Executive orders and federal court orders are changing the landscape for refugees who seek safety and freedom in the U.S. Join us at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for a free briefing from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and leading refugee resettlement agencies in the Bay Area.

Nina Sachdev, USCIS, will explain refugee processing procedures, including vetting, an overview of the asylum program and how USCIS responds to changing situations. Karen Ferguson, International Rescue Committee, and Kathryn Winogura, Jewish Family & Community Services-East Bay, will share how their agencies are responding and how we can help.

Sponsored by Interfaith Welcome: Bay Area Refugee Support, with member congregations Grace Cathedral, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Congregation Emanu-El, Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Old First Presbyterian Church and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

At the event, you will be able to sign up to volunteer and/or make a donation to the refugee agencies (International Rescue Committee and Jewish Family & Community Services-East Bay).

Refreshments will be served, so please RSVP if you plan to attend.  If you cannot RSVP, come anyway!
