Will you be the voice for a child in foster care?

"My CASA volunteering gives my life MEANING and is also FUN.  I can schedule it to suit my calendar.  My CASA youth and I jointly choose what to do, so we both have fun. What else am I doing (work, exercise, movie-going, hanging with friends, travel, hiking, biking, cooking, etc.) that could possibly be as meaningful and satisfying as creating an authentic, warm connection with a young person in need of acceptance?"   Monica, current CASA Volunteer

A CASA is an advocate for an abused and neglected child in foster care. In a life full of uncertainty and endless change, you can be one consistent and caring adult.

Are you ready to become a CASA?

The Fall training begins on 9/19/23. You must be 21 or older to apply. Please visit: https://www.sfcasa.org/volunteer

Navigating Long Term Care for Your Aging Loved One

Please join us for this informative presentation on navigating long-term care options for your loved one. We will discuss how and when to implement care for your aging loved one and how to advocate for them within the healthcare system. We will also provide important community resources and share how to access services. Lastly, you will learn helpful strategies for practicing self-care and setting healthy boundaries.

About our presenters:

Andrea Korsunsky is the director of Seniors At Home's Center for Dementia Care--a comprehensive program providing direct psychosocial intervention and support for families and caregivers of those with Dementia and related conditions. Andrea supports families and care partners by establishing ways to connect emotionally with a person with dementia as the disease progresses and supporting family care partners as they manage the daily changes in mood and behavior. Andrea has over 17 years of experience working with families and building strengths-based care plans while integrating person-centered, trauma informed care into every aspect of her work.

Kate Blank, LCSW, is a care manager for Seniors At Home. She earned her MSW at Arizona State University and is a licensed clinical social worker. While in graduate school, she began working with survivors of domestic violence and passionately pursued that work for over six years. She joined the Seniors At Home team in 2015 and relishes the opportunity to work with her clients closely, and to provide ongoing support and advocacy for them.
