Beyond "Us vs. Them": Seeking Unity in Divided Times
We are increasingly divided and retreating into echo chambers of people with whom we agree. In an effort to find ways forward, we will seek to foster stronger community ties between diverse groups by raising awareness around issues of justice.
Join us as we view select clips from the Ava DuVernay’s Netflix Original Documentary, “13TH” – a look at the journey from slavery to mass incarceration – and then engage in a discussion on the film and several of the topics raised. Diverse perspectives are welcome.
Howard Lindsay, Minister of Social Justice at Grace Tabernacle Church in San Francisco’s Bayview District, will facilitate.
