The “Gathering” Overview:
• One day health education symposium for San Francisco Bay Area Region
• Bring together faith leaders, health ministries, advocates, public health professionals, clinicians, researchers and community members to facilitate a dialogue, networking & partnerships toward a sustainable response to reduce the burden of cancer health disparities & improve health outcomes in congregations and surrounding communities
• Promote the development, growth & sustainability of health ministry programs
• Highlight UCSF Office of Community Engagement and the San Francisco Cancer Initiative (SFCAN) health equity priorities & ways to get involved
• Showcase health ministries and “best practice” health education programs, strategies and tools to strengthen capacity for sustainable health ministry programs
