Workshop description:
Tax season is around the corner! Assessor-Recorder Carmen Chu and the SF Public Library invite you to a workshop for homeowners on tax savings opportunities. We will teach you how your property taxes are calculated and share tax exemptions that you may be eligible for as a homeowner in California! We will also review income tax savings for property owners.
The Office of the Assessor-Recorder is responsible for determining an assessed value for all taxable property subject to property taxation. The Office also maintains all of the public records for San Francisco. Carmen Chu is the elected Assessor-Recorder for the City and County of San Francisco. The work that her office does helps to generate over $2 billion in revenue, which is used to fund crucial services like fire, police, neighborhood improvements, and health & family support services.
