Volunteer and Provide Compassionate Service to Your Community
Seniors At Home, a division of Jewish Family and Children’s Services is seeking individuals who wish to become palliative care volunteers. Palliative care aims to provide extra layers of support to people with serious illness—acute or chronic, from day of diagnosis through the end of life. Volunteers gain the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate service to those who are ill as well as their families. Through this training, people obtain valuable insights about life and death; learn how to best offer companionship and support to our clients; and provide respite for family caregivers. Our comprehensive, 30-hour training starts on October 13, 2015 and runs through October 29, 2015. The training is located at our office on 2150 Post Street in San Francisco. Please email info@seniorsathome.org or call 415-449-3777 to find out dates for training sessions after initial October 13th session. No medical experience is necessary. To learn more, contact Rabbi Daniel Isaacson, Director of Spiritual Services at 415-449-3879 or DanielI@jfcs.org. We offer 30 CEUs for RNs and Social Workers for a nominal fee.
