About this Event
Stanley and Diana Steyer: A Story of Love, Betrayal, Courage, & Resilience
Tuesday, July 27th, 11AM – 12:15PM PT
In 1943, Danuta Kintzel, a Catholic, married Samek Sztajer, a Jew, living with false identity papers on the Aryan side of Warsaw. Despite their risky union, and the dangers they endured trying to save other Jews, both survived.
In this Summer Learning Series event, Dr. Yedida Kanfer will present archival items from the recently donated Stanley Steyer collection. Helen Sarah Steyer, the daughter of Stanley (Samek) and Diana (Danuta), will honor the memory of her parents by introducing her family story to our community.
This event will be on Zoom and is open to anyone over the age of 13.
This program is supported in part by Helen Sarah Steyer and the Holocaust Memorial Education Fund of the Jewish Community Federation. Presented in partnership with the San Francisco Interfaith Council.
